Already Something New To Post

Post 2. (I promise I wont keep count for ever)

The phrase "You knew it all the time".

I don't know if it is grammatically correct, but this phrase ALWAYS annoys the bajeezus out of me because it does not roll off the tongue quite right. The way it should be said (to me) that makes the most sense is "You knew it the entire time". 'All the time' does not really indicate a past tense to me. It seems to encompass the past, present, and future, whereas 'the entire time' seems to indicate a time from some point in the past to now, when I am making this statement.

I LOATHE that particular useage of "all the time" and it drives me nuts because kids say it on kids shows, adults say it on adult shows, but I have NEVER heard anyone speak like that in reality and I think it is because people say "the entire time" instead.
